- This is the best opening song to an album I’ve heard in a long time, it sets the standard straight away. The opening scream is the best scream since At The Drive In and the drums are awesome. I like listening to it when I get on the bus after work; it blows all crap I’ve had to deal with out of my head and gets me back to the real world.
- 02. Japandroids - Wet Hair

- I'm really into loud distorted guitars at the moment and haven't been able to stop listening to this band since I first heard them. Its really simple, just guitar, drums and vocals so it really relies on great guitar sounds and awesome tunes. The whole album is amazing so I kind of picked a song at random, but this one fucking rocks.
- 03. Burt Bacharach - Rain Drops Keep Falling On My Head

- One of the best songs ever written, and reminds me of good times. Its a classic end of the night song when everyone is a little worse for wear, it sends you off to bed in a good mood.
- 04. Grizzly Bear - While You Wait For The Others

- This is by some distance one of my favourite songs of this year. I first heard it after picking up the record store day 7" with this on at Other Music. About 30 hours later I got back from New York and finally listened to it, I hadn't slept since I bought it and it sounded fantastic. Still does.
- 05. Animal Collective - Summertime Clothes

- Of course My Girls is amazing, but I almost think this is better. Someone at our old Japanese label gave me a copy of Feels, which I completely didn't get, but I've had a total Animal Collective obsession since getting a copy of their new record. Album of the year for sure.
- 06. My Bloody Valentine - You Made Me Realise

- I'd listened to the albums to death but I'd never heard this until a couple of years ago. It sounds like they tried really hard to not let it be a pretty pop song by adding the noisier bits, which just makes it more awesome.
- 07. Neil Young - Like A Hurricane

- We're all huge Neil Young fans so we had to pick one of his songs. I wish I could get this guitar sound any time I wanted.
- 08. Deerhunter - Nothing Ever Happened

- We've been listening to a lot of American bands recently, there just seems to be a lot of interesting stuff happening with their music scene. I'm a sucker for a good vocal melody used as guitar line, and the end of song freakout just keeps getting better when they start messing with their delay pedals.
