Too often hidden by the antics of his former accomplice and best friend Pete Doherty, Carl Bârat was the driving force of the Libertines, the band which was instrumental in the return of guitar rock in Europe. After the split of the best English band since the Clash, Carl Bârat started his own, the Dirty Pretty Things, with which he recorded two albums of savage British rock. Following a solo carrier, Carl Bârat appears occasionally on European stages, possibly waiting to reform the band which made him famous.
