Situated in the heart of Paris in a complex designed by Renzo Piano and Richard Rogers, whose architecture is now emblematic of the 20th century, the Pompidou Center opened in 1977 and has over 5 million visitors every year.
The Pompidou Center houses one of the most important museums in the world, the National Museum of Modern Art, with the leading collection of modern and contemporary art in Europe (58,000 pieces).
True to its interdisciplinary vocation, the Pompidou Center organizes each year around thirty exhibitions as well as many events, most of which travel afterwards in France and abroad.
In 2010, another Pompidou Center will open in Metz to present the collections of the Center and organize temporary exhibitions.
