It's already been a few years since we released our first album. We've had to stand up for it on stage, throughout Europe, with the great pleasure. We were only too happy to do so. Today, we've finished writing the second album and the only piece missing is a label to make things happen... Meanwhile, we compose more and more, we're touring England and we played at Centre Pompidou a few months ago... Besides, this picture was shot in one of the many lobbies of Beaubourg... We took off our dark clothes for a bit of color, but I would certainly not call that a concession.

Here are 3 video clips we like, with a bit of a commentary :

Yo La Tengo - Periodically Double Or Triple

01. Yo la tengo Periodically Double Or Triple

Fruit, possibly a green salad, mouths, some juice and a few swallowing skilfully arranged, that's the new clip from Yo La Tengo, stemming from a collaboration with the video director John Mc Swain. It's simple, touching, sensual and completely in the image of a band who has practically nothing to do anymore except have fun. For our pleasure.  Are you ready to smile foolishly while looking at a watermelon turning into a tortoise ?

Grizzly Bear - Two Weeks

02. Grizzly Bear Two Weeks

I took Jay-Z and Beyonce to see Grizzly Bear in New York. I said : « Listen to this, Jay ! They are the ones making music progress ! They get inspiration from the foundations of folk music, their melodies are moving and unstoppable, and they add their own touch : arrangements that are both imposing and subtle, detailed and classy harmonies... » As he was not yet entirely convinced, and since I wanted to show him it was not only music for the aesthete, i sent him the Two Weeks clip : « Look at that, the video fits the song perfectly! It does not follow the beauty, it disturbs... but insidiously ! It adds a sense of disquiet so subtle you need time to understand ! Those too-smooth faces, those half-smiles, those too-wide eyes which don't blink at the same time... it makes your hair stand up ! » I even dared to add : « You see, at the time, Hip Hop was strongly influencing Rock, but now, it's certainly Hip Hop which should get inspiration from what happens on the Indie side ! » Next time, I'm gonna bring Britney to see Fuck Buttons.

03. Bat for Lashes What's a girl to do

I chose a video from Bat for Lashes cause i don't like the band... At best, it' a modern version of Kate Bush, and at worst a flimsy plagiary of Bjork. Well, furthermore, I'm generally not a big fan of bikers... I think they have awful trousers, and they will never come close to the class of skaters... But here it goes, the time always comes when you have to face facts : I can be wrong. What comes next is a kind of a self-flogging : " I have to admit that the song is brilliant and, above all, bikers can be classy ".
