These New Puritans
A four-piece band from Southend, England, These New Puritans would have been a nice addition to the legendary record label Creation. With a crafty mix of Joy Division darkness and the Happy Monday’s energy, the band delivers dance floor bound rock songs, half way between new rave and big beat, in a pure British style.
Sitting in Paris with their hearts and heads in London, this talented quartet dancing on Joy Division’s grave has brought the Factory back to life in the French capital. The English have recognized their talent and the band, noticed by the NME, has spent the last two years setting fire to the London clubs with their spectacular concerts.
Greatly inspired by Carpenter and Romero B-movie soundtracks, this side project of Herman Dune’s drummer Cosmic Neman and Married Monk’s keyboard Etienne Jaumet (who has recently released a solo album on Domino records) is a psychedelic journey into anxiety, to the beat of hypnotic percussions and synthesized loops.
