“Concert Tôt Concert Tea”, Stage of the Art collaboration at the Théâtre du Chatelet, 2013-2014
Twin Twin
Stage of the Art and the Théâtre du Châtelet come together again for the 2013-2014 season. Four new dates in the series Concert Tôt Concert Tea especially for children.
Stage of the Art presents two orchestras like you’ve never seen before. With the Toy Orchestra and the Vegetable Orchestra, the music comes from unexpected places. A bicycle bell, a music box, a leek or a courgette… Michael Wookey with his orchestra and the Vegetable Orchestra enchant our eyes and our ears. Magic ensues, just like in a childhood dream where objects come alive.
Speaking of which, a child’s dream is just where Arne Vinzon and the Twin Twin come from. They are like your perfect imaginary primary school teacher and slightly mad. Arne Vinzon explores Time through dance and music, while the Twin Twin tell the story of music in the style of a modern Lewis Carroll.
This new season of the Stage of the Art and Théâtre du Chatelet partnership offers an original, top quality musical programme that will delight children and grown-ups alike. Four artistic performances that push back the limits of a regular concert with its unilateral exchange between the artist and the public, offering instead a communal experience that is not to be missed!

The Vegetable Orchestra
Veritable sound designers and sculptors of ephemeral instruments fresh from the market, these musicians/artists of the natural world offer a hilarious and original performance. It’s musical, visual and olfactory at the same time, influenced in form and substance by classical music, improvisation and electronic experimentation. Besides their own compositions, THE VEGETABLE ORCHESTRA revisit their influences and rend fabulous homage to: Stravinsky’s “Rite of Spring”, Kraftwerk’s “Radioaktivität” and pieces by John Cage, Xenakis, Radian…

Was there something before? Will there be something after? Surrounded by dancing synths and comical drawings, Arne Vinzon explores Time in every tempo: energetic sarabands, soft chants, comical sketches and strange choreographies. A voyage in Time through song… An enchanted daydream.

Twin Twin
Twin Twin
An off-beat lesson on the history of music by primary school teachers who look like mad hatters. A video game that comes alive and a patchwork song made with the help of the public – to take home with you, like the memory of a rather crazy dream. The French trio Twin Twin is explosive. Wherever they go it brings down the house!

Michael Wookey & Toy Orchestra
Michael Wookey directs ten musicians with the most peculiar instruments! The astonishing conductor of a prodigious “toy orchestra” with its collection of vintage instruments and children’s toys, he invents a pop cabaret! A unique and off-the-wall performance that brings a child’s dream to life.
